The BOOM of 3D Animation and VFX in Indian Cinema

Indian #cinemas have come a long way from its first feature film #RajaHarishchandra made in 1969 to the movies like #RRR getting recognition on an international platform. And with the course of time #Animation and #VFX industry also have seen a considerable increase in demand in terms of quality content and entertainment. When a movie like #RaOne (featuring a superstar SHAHRUKH KHAN) came on screen, it was a complete failure among its audience and critics mainly due to the unconventional presentation of content where in #3Danimation and #VFX was involved. At that point of time the #VFX industry in India was also not that advance and the audience (that particular generation) was unable to digest what was presented to them. Although #VFX existed even before #RaOne with movies like Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha being among the first one to do so and since a long time #VFX has evolved along with movies in a very subtle way. But then came Bahubali : The Beginning in 2015 and the #3Danimation and #VFX industry boomed. There were around 4500 VFX shots that were shot for the movie and worked upon in various national and international studios. Not that this was the first big project for Indian cinemas, there are movies like Dhoom, Don, Krishh etc which have used #VFX shots for the movie, but the kind of work done by the studios for #Bahubali gave the movie a lot of appreciation and recognition. The fan following was huge and the movie also made a lot of money which broke all records.
Now for the Media and Entertainment Industry, #animation and #VFX has something new and interesting to offer and the industry saw acceptance and appreciation from the audience. Then came 2020 - the covid times. People were locked at their homes with nothing much to do, they only had the digital content which was accessible and made the lockdown bearable. This led to a huge hike in the consumption of the content by the audience, but creation of new content became a task due to restrictions. At that point of time animation and #VFX industry saw a new opportunity and thus more animated content was in demand. With OTT and online streaming being in demand people were more inclined towards animated content. During this specific time alone animation industry recorded a growth of 10% in 2020. With an increased demand in high quality content in movies, series, commercials and even you tubing the #animation and #VFX industry saw in surge in demand and this opened up new opportunities for the designers and artists. The integration of animation #VFX with main stream movies has created a fantastic combination and audience is hungry for more. Looking at the inclination of the customers the #MediaAndEntertainmentIndustry has seen a opportunity and the main stream movies are setting up huge budgets for the post production. The much anticipated movies like Pushpa 2, Aadipurush, Animal, Bhola and many more have set huge budgets for #VFX and #animation and they would surely deliver the best of works that Media industry all round the world would applaud.
Now is the time when the entertainment houses are generating story lines around the special effects and #animation which would create a mark and higher the standards of storytelling. They are creating storylines that revolve around #specialeffects and are making use of the best of technology to get the desired results. Conclusively the #animation and #VFX industry has seen a magnificent growth in the past 2 years and the projection for the upcoming years shows a very promising future in the #animation and #VFX industry. With the right technological advancement and creative expressions the animation industry will see a very rapid expansion that will create a new face and era for the Indian cinemas.
